About me

Georgie Youngs. MSc. BSc. EEBW.

I had been self-employed since 2014, running a small livery yard alongside my freelance riding. I absolutely adored my career, but the pandemic put this on hold and left me wondering where to go next!

I went to University to study BSc Equine Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation in 2012 and also completed an Equine Body Worker qualification whilst there, allowing me to work as an Equine Sports Massage Therapist. Due to my riding career taking off, I did not pursue this fully to begin with but once I was left to ponder where to turn next during the first lockdown, I decided to further this education by completing an MSc in McTimoney Animal Chiropractic. Adding this tool to my belt allows me to offer an all-round, thorough treatment alongside my vast knowledge of equine movement and performance. I am now able to provide rehabilitation and performance-improving treatment whilst working alongside owners, trainers and other equine professionals. It takes a village!

I pride myself in my professionalism and reliability and have vast references from many clients throughout my Equine career.

I also have two horses of my own, and my co-worker Sako, a loyal black Labrador who comes everywhere with me. Pelikan is my veteran horse, he is 20 years old now and is my heart horse. He is the most difficult, infuriating and quirky creature I have ever met, terrified of his own shadow, but he has taught me more about horses, myself and life than any other living being. Not many people would put up with his bizarre nature, but he is the love of my life. We have evented, team chased, showjumped and explored to our hearts content and though he now has a much slower pace of life due to various injuries (mostly self-inflicted!) I still have to work him every single day to calm his mind. I also have a 6 year old PRE who I spontaneously bought during the first lockdown, unseen from Spain (I have no idea what came over me!), as a project to back and bring on whilst work was quiet, however, he has turned out to be far more exciting than I ever expected, and began his first season of British Eventing in 2023!

As you can probably tell, horses are my passion, and though I am qualified to treat all animals, I focus on horses as this is where my devotion lies.
